ok. heres my problem. i have an 89 accord (LXi?) and im having trouble with the engine. it was crashed into by a drunk driver in dallas. it accelerates when i start it, and it idles irregularly at .750. i want to swap out the engine for something better, but i don't know what engine will fit or where to get them. the car is carburated and unless i have to i dont want to switch to a f/i. if someone has anything to contribute please do so as any help is greatly appreciated.

Take a look at your engine it will tell you what type of engine it is. The nomenclature is on the block I think. Also call junk years to see if you can find another engine like yours. I've never even though doing swaps on a year like that so I dont know where to start.

actually, i think it was totaled a total of three times (twice in dallas and once down here in brownsville). and yes, now that i have a job, i think that i should make it into a project. by the way after three weeks in the shop, it should run a bit better, i hope. but arnt the b series engines for f/i (fuel injected) cars? i run a carbuerated engine and the the only b series engine for the accord is japan only. check out this site and follow the link that says list of honda engines and then click where it says 89 honda accord.
