my buddy picked up a type s when we all came home from iraq and i like it... its a sturdy platform all around in my opinin... its a bit of a fat boy like the bb4 preludes were... but i think its a good car for the tuner project.. thats all my opinion though maybe someone who really owns one will give better answer to your question

Which Si are you talking about? FG2 or EP3?

IMO the 2006+ Civic Si (FG2) is a better car, stock for stock. The Si comes with LSD, RSX does not.

I believe the Si has the same head as the base RSX and the type s has a different V-tech design that uses 3 cam lobes instead of two for the VTEC.
As far as which car is better, I have had a few friends with the type-s's and I'm not really sure they are worth the extra money. The average Type-s decently optioned is like 26ish and the Si is more like 21ish, plus like said above, the Si has a limited slip which is pricey to upgrade to on the RSX. I think the Si weighs a little less also. I guess it depends what you want out of the car. The Acura has a nicer interior(even though my firends complain of trim pieces breaking all the time), they are a little more grown up I guess, where as the Si is definitely meant more for driving. I don't know which one has a stiffer body, that would play into my decision as well.

ok well since none of you own eather of these cars you really have no idea. First off I have an 03 type s and ya it has LSD. The cars way the same and the race is very close but ive beaten 06 SI's by a 2 cars at 110-120 mph... the SI has 197 hp as the type s has 200... not much of a difference but it beats the SI.

the car is only rated for 197hp for insurance and fine costs to produce, it makes over 215. it all depends on driver also

i own a 07 si sedan, and my best friend ows a 06 type s. we race all the time and he does not beat the si by 2 cars. in fact we both have beat each others cars numerous times. But i would not say one car is faster then the other.

this is why i only go to honda-tech to look for parts only, because of people like this. dude lude, sav, and mike are probrably the smartest people the post regularly on here, so don't say they dont know what theyre talking about.

Well, i own an 08 SI and i don't think a type s would be able to pull it by two car. My friend has an 06 type S and we raced a few times. Sometimes he beats me and sometime i beat him. But he has an intake with and exhaust. Mine is only bone stock. But i think it do depends on the drivers. Between both these cars, i don't think one is quicker than the other being stock. Its about the same and depends on who and how it is driven.
