One of my relatives over in the Bay Area has a like 89 or 90 CRX that they are willing to sell me really cheap. If I buy this thing, what are my options for engines and transmissions. I have been told that the GSR is quick and easy and works really well. Is there anything better. also about how much should I pay for a GSR engine in good shape.

i dunno about the gsr (b18c1) bt you can do a b16, the b17 or the b18a. or build a ls/vtec... ask lude runner about this

yea your opportunities with the 88-91 crx is almost endless... there are part upgrades out the *** for these cars ... and since it is soo light any motor swap is an upgrade compared to their 1.5 ltr factor motor .... h22 swap would be killer.. even the new k series swap would be sweet... b series swaps in these are just fun.... a good shpe gsr full swap motor ecu wiring harness and axles would prolly run you in th 2 grand area... then the aftermarket mounts for like another 2-3 hundred if i look around i might have an extra set of b series swap mounts for a crx

I hadn't even considered the H22, i didnt know it would drop in. I may have to start looking into that swap.

Thanks, I will keep you guys updated on what happens with this.

yea the h22 will go in it take a lil more persuasion to dram it in there plus it weighs the front end down a good bit so immediatly strengthen your front suspension.... i dont know of many daily drivin but i see a few guys at the strip runnin them in their race only crx's.. dont know if there is a legal problem there or they just use that setup cuz its such a light car and the h series motors are soo powerful

if you arent that experienced then do a b series swap.

unless you can find all the parts for the gsr i would say just buy the complete change over from hmotorsonline.com its about $3200 plus shipping and handling so depending where you live itll proly cost another $200. i recommend picking up the lsd tranny for an extra $300. mounts from hasport are about $400 i think for a hydraulic tranny

if thats too expensive get a b16 complete change over. first or second generation. i recommend the first generation just cause its the same obd and its cheaper. plus the mounts at hasport are like $100 cheaper for the cable tranny mounts.
