Im A 16 year old kid who knows to much about cars and thinks drifting has ruined the import scene.
i like downhill touge and want to buld a speed car. for those of you who dont know what touge is its how drifting started. its downhill racing where the the guy who crosses the finish line first wins the race not the guy with the most drift points.
if you are willing to answer questions and help me with decisions read further
i would like to build a 90-91 model crx
im into the jdm scene not b ecause its getting guys features but because it is truley what building a car should be about its about getting power and getting a clean look
where parts are functionable
i would like to check and see what engine possibilitys are best for the crx
the b16a out of the integrea type R is a pretty clean setup and looks powerful
but i cant help but to notice the b18c which also looks as powerful but has more upgradablity
and also this is farfetched but the k20
hahaha
yeah its powerful and well kiks *** but is a pain to swap i hear
so if anyone has suggestions or ideas to help pleese post back
thanks

i never really built any high out put vtec motors but i think the b16 is as good as the b18c the only difference is displacement really.... umm if you want a fun ride id put the b18 in the crx.. its common every one does it ... thas because its fun and reliable... and its an easy swap

Welcome to our forums! and no need to explain yourself here, we're all about putting power into our cars and making them look nice and clean.
b16 is a fun motor(not out of a type r teggy btw), but with the b18c1 you get a little more hp with more torque. since it sounds like you dont have much experience doing swaps, i would recommend doing a b series first just for the experience. a k swap may get a little frustrating for a virgin . But i say go with the b18c1 and avoid the type r because i peronally think its way over priced. you can always build a poorman's type r.
JDM motors b16 (sirI) 160Hp 111Trq 10.2 Compression b16 (sirII) 170Hp 113Trq 10.4 Compression b18c1 (gsr) 180Hp 126Trq 10.6 Compression b18c5 (type r) 200Hp 134Trq 11.1 Compression

is it not the b16a in the teg type r
im not new just new to honda engines and such
i really just want an easy start but i want power
the b18c5 (type r)with 200Hp is an impressive motor and priced highly true
and from what i hear is the same motor as the b18c1 but the b18c5 just has the integra R P73 pistons
but also in looking its not just a simple piston swap to get the horse power out of the b18c1 to match the b18c5 it looks as if it may take more
i have the money to go for the bigger one so im thinking its the way i wanna go
plus all the power i can get out of just motor is what im looking for im not using spray or turbine on this project
i was thinking about running the individual throttle bodys from toda
idk any one got some imput or help post please
thanks

the b18c5 is in the integra type r. but i really think it would be better just just build a poormans type r, unless you planning on keeping the type r stock. cause if you completley rebuild the type r youre pretty much just taking away everything that makes it a type r motor. Get a gsr block go to a machine shop and bore it out and get a b16 head for better airflow. because a b18c5 head to me is just a fancy b16 head. but you can proly put the same amount of money into building a better motor.
trust me. me and my friend built a poormans type r for his 89 civic si and its a beast.
Bored gsr block b16 head skunk2 stage 2 cams (before he had itr cams) itr header (had a dc header) aftermarket exhaust (cant remember)
he made 186whp with the itr cams and dc header with some crappy exhaust.
with the new cams, header, and exhaust he's easy over 200whp.
