OK, I have just finnaly came into a nice chunk of change, and I have decided on a k20a into a 1996 CX, but I have read up that you will need to rpalce the entire, key ignition, with a chipped key from the dealer??? is this true help me out

not sure but i may have to look into that for my buddy before we start pullin his car apart!!! ill look around and see whut i can find out

yeah i heard the same thing. but my friend knows someone who did the swap so ill try to get him to find out.

ok guys i have searched for a long time and this is what I have found.. there is 3 kinds of ecus for the k20a, they say that is you have the type-3 then you will need a engine managment system from hondata you can buy called the, k-pack, this can also do all your mixtures and timing. and eliminates the use of the coded key. but the type-3 comes from anything thats 02-03+. thats what I have found out any comments

i havent heard of the k pack at all. you mean k pro? if not then i have no idea.

Ya lol I mean K pro lol. I was going by memory I knoew it started with a P.. even when i was typing it it felt funny lol

lol ok. i was like oh great something even more expensive to get a k in my car. lol yeah well i read up a bit, kpro should be all that you need as far as i know. but its like $1k. hondata makes some good ecu's, but so *** expensive!

lol yeah. my best resource was k-series.com and k20a.org and other threads of people who have done the swap.
