i finally got my turbo kit installed on my ride last week. my problem is when i hooked up the chipped ecu the car won't rev past 4500rpm. it runs fine up to that and when it hits around 4500 it spits, sputters and cuts back. anyone got any ideas.

i've always ran 93 octane fuel. what do you mean try it without the chip. i did'nt think it would run without the custom map in it. i used my brother's ecu for a while when it was n/a, this just happened when i boosted it. i tried another eprom chip that i have with a different map (only difference in between the two is one is for a 3bar the other is for stock map sensor) on it and the same thing happened

the problem is my engine runs extremely rich at around 4500rpm. i don't know how to make it lean out so i guess its time to go get tuned.

Your car was most likely running in the ecu's "safe mode" Which "chip" were/are you using?

You probably were not planning to, but please don't try to make your own map. Good luck!

if you read the entire thread then you should have seen the problem is fixed now. i got another crome basemap from a better tuner than the person i ordered the ecu from.

I got a sort of un related question for you jDubs. I got the same engine and was wondering if you need to do anything to the internals before boosting?
