i need help getting more hp out of my d17 but dont want to lose my mpg i know cold air would help but i was wondering about a lighter flywheel. they say the mass of a stock flywheel is great for inertia but i dont know if a light one would give me worse mpg. besides that any one have anymore ideas for hp and mpg gains?

a light weight fly wheel will help put more power down i think there is some 20% hp loss from the flywheel to the wheels by having a lighter flywheel that is less the crank has to turn thus delivering more power at the same rpm levels.. not gobs of power but 3-7 extra id say.. also a full exhaust headers back. larger diamiter pipe less restrictive bends will give better flow and more power. you already have a cold air intake good.. now have you thought about a better intake manifold higher flowing like edelbrock victor x series or skunk 2? expensive but worth it also a throttle body spacer.. it gives a few extra mm's of neck with a groove pattern to allow fuel and air to mix better for full combustion. i got one on both my cars they run like 15-20 dollars! if you get all this stuff you will see some decent poer change and better gas mileage

Mentioning the flywheel..,can you please tell me the most siutable flywheel weight for a B16A engine without loosing torque at low & midrange power because I intend to change it while fitting an LSD system too.I intend to keep the engine, naturally aspirated, apart from slight mods such as intake & exhaust system. What approx. power gains can I see ?
