I own a 2000 honda civic lx sedan. At the time I can't sell it, and need more power from it's 1.6L SOHC non-Vtec engine. I'm looking for helps on what would best or fit in the easiest for this car. So far I'm thinking a B18C or somewhere around there. Also, if anyone knows how difficult or expensive it would be to have it professionally done, that would help me out a lot too. Thanks

on a budget i would suggest a mini me swap, a d series vtec head on your non vtec block rasied compression and raises horse power, wont be a massive gain but will be cheap and give a little more pep. for b series on a budget i would do a b18b.

I hope your car is a 5 speed already. If it is automatic, then a swap is not a good idea.
You would need an OBDII-b B18C1 GSR motor from 2000-2001. It would need to come with ECU, axles, shift linkage, engine harness, etc. A whole swap can run about $2500-$3000.
If you had more money you could also drop in a USDM B18C5 motor from an Integra Type R. Those go for up to $4500.
The labor to put it in should run %500-$1000 depending on the shop. These motors drop right in with no problems and a couple of wires need to be added.
Dropping a K series is also no problem, but the conversion parts and labor are very intense. Forget having A/C in the car with a K series.
If you live in California, then forget K series. It is very hard to smog legalize K series in earlier Civics.
