You can throw on every bolt-on available and a Hondata ECU and with tuning maybe get 200-225 HP at the wheels.  I have a completely built d16y8 that is turbocharged and is putting down 266 at the wheels w/13psi.  I had way too much $$ invested in this motor w/bolt-ons when it was N/A to consider an engine swap, so I went crazy and replaced the top and bottom end when I had the turbo installed.  Hitting 300 HP shouldn't be a prob when I upgrade the injectors.  I would also consider a K-swap.  Minor bolt-one to that engine will net 200 HP easily.

I have a 99 civic EX with a Y8 turbo. Pushing 380 whp daily driver @ 18psi. the D's have some serious potential power. If you do it right!!! Build the D! Im running a solid vitara build, GE rods, and whole buddy club head intetrnals....Crower stage 2 cam. Its funny when you eat up 5.0's n STI's on the highway. Their face looks priceless

I had a 1994 civic ex coupe, and currently own a civic ex coupe and a 2004 civic ex coupe.  My question is with my 2000 with 200000 miles on it.  Went to replace all seals for the leaks to later find out that the tech said that they all blew back out.  Now I'm told that there is a little play with the crank(possibly being a bad thrust bearing).  If it wasn't for me wanting to fix the leaks, I would've never know there was a problem.  How long do I have with this motor before major problems occur apart from the engine oil leaking out.  Then I would like some suggestions if I would replace the motor in the furture of what I should get motor wise and what internals, etc. to make it around the 200-225 hp range without nos/turbo/super charge.  The car is bone stock @127hp and it's an auto.  I'm a private investigator where I'm chasing people around all day and if I did have a manual, lets just say metal would be everywhere.  One of my past cars was a 1987 GTA that was on the cover of the 1991 braket racing USA magazine back in the high school days when nationals/gnx's/and 600 street bikes had nothing on my car.  At atco raceway it was called the beast.  enough about my past, i need help now? thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!!
