I have a 1995 Acura Integra Special Edition, i have had alot of people ask me if its a GSR. I know its not a VTEC but i am not sure about the GSR part. I have had someone tell me to look for the numbers under the hood, but my problem is that the car is 200 miles away at my aunts house because i told her she could use it till i got my license. i have pictures of the motor i took last time i was out there if any one needs to see. Once again i am asking how do i know if its a GSR, and what does GSR stand for?

the GS-R is the kick *** performance model of the teg lineup and other than the type-R probebly the most sought after integra. and it could be a gsr doughtful though maybe it was and someone scrambled the motor and swapped in a regular ls or somethin but once again doughtful ... if its a special edition it probebly is of the non vtech ls,gs,or rs type

Special Edition Integras are actually LS's. They are not GSR's. If you look at the numbers on the block it will say B18c1 if it is a gsr or in older gsr's it is a B17a. Very unlikely that you will find a B17a though, they made very few Da integras that were gsr's. They are about as rare as a Type R.  Your block in your SE will say B18b1, a LS motor. All a SE has compared to a regular LS is the fact that they usually have leather and are typically dark emerald green or black but sometimes did come in other colors. They may have other small differences but not anything very big.

the easiest way and im suprised nobody has said it yet is to check the VIN code if it starts with JH4DC4 then you have an LS/GS if its JH4DC4 but DOESN'T have a sunroof, cruise-control, or anti-lock brakes then its an RS. If its got DC2 in place of DC4 and HAS a sunroof its a GSR if its DC2 and DOESN'T have a sunroof its a Type R that should clear up anything anyone has to say

Special Edition integras are basically GSR non VTEC. They have everything that the GSR has besides the VTEC engine, GSR cluster, and ECU.

^^^^^   I am suprised that someone did not state that earlier. That is by far the easiest way to find out what is exactly in your car.

Is there is any other letter besides a C you do not have a GSR.

your car is not a GS-R, but the B18B is a great powerplant, with some basic mods it will perform stoplight to stoplight just as well as A typical VTEC powered GS-R. Have fun.

special E's of that year were V-tec is urs 4-dr? probly so. GSR gets miskaten in them years cuz of honda using the same wheel on spec-E an GSR's. Spec-E have leather, GSR do not. Same car yet i believe spec-E dont come with upper or lower bars in the bay. Or lower in the rear. Have to check that myself. I own a '95 GSR  FOUR-DOOR.... Worked with a chic that has '95 SPEC-Edition. Both rides use a B18c5 motor. She has leather I do not. Both are four door. She is white an mine is green.

b18c1 is *** spec type R motor. b18c5 is US GSR or Spec-E plant. Anything else is non-vtec
