Hi, I'm vitually very new to this I bought a 99accord coupe LX automatic back in march. It is my first car and was always a car I wanted so this will be my project car for the next year. When my engine reaches the 200,000km I will perform a complete swap from AT to MT. Although I still hesitate on what to swap it for... Do i still swap for a F23A and turbocharge it or do I swap it for an H22A...I dont wanna turbocharge it or supercharge it cause ive heard u have to tune up the engine a lot more than the 4cyl F23A. What would be the best swap here as I am looking for Power but also Durability. And also where could I find aftermarket and OEM parts

id say drop in another f23 or h23 basically the same motors and you can turbo them as they are with no real issues as the compression is more suitable for turbo though you can turbo an h22 the same way it is a it higher compalso has the vtec you would have to do the ecu and wiring swap for vtec.. but if your new you probebly dont know much of that so ill just say id go f23 or h23 good luck hope i was of assistance

Ok there are a fiew things to consider with this swap..If you are looking for a good power upgrade without spending a pretty penny then i would say go with the H22. BUT, if you are set on going turbo I would stay with a F series motor. They are super strong bottem ends and are great for boost. Another option that would be good to look into is the F20b. It's the euro Accord type R motor. It has the best of both worlds, the F series bottom end with basicly a DOHC H22 top end. Honestly if you are willing to spend the money and time on building the internals for a turbo I would go with any F series bottom end (F22a/F22b/F23) with a h22 head, it bolts right up and you have a bullet proof super reliable hybrid that is both DOHC and has VTEC. The reason I would stay away from the H22 bottom end (if you are going turbo) is because the cylinder sleeves in the h22 are made of a composate that doesn't hold up to after market internals. I guess the easy way to make up your mind is decide if you just want a small power upgrade without spending a lot of money(H22), or if you want to spend the money to make 300+hp with a boosted F series engine.. I hope that helped your question some.
