hello, my 93 honda civic will fire up the first crank of the day, and immediately die, never going above 250 rpm's. after that first fire, it'll just crank all day. has new plugs, wires, cap, button, distributor, icm, coil, fuel filter, air filter(not new, but aftermarket cold air intake with washable filter freshly cleansed) new hi-flo cat and aftermarket muffler. i checked the main relay with ohm meter. checks good. coil, icm, and distributor modules all check good. no codes. has spark, but weak (compared to what i get from my v8 chevy, maybe normal for honda, i don't know.) also checked the fuel service bolt for pressure, and its good. what now? thanks.

what model civic do you own, because if it is a cx dx lx etc. then there probally is no lack of power, its just that they are very slow. but if you want to see if its normal for "hondas" line that rust bucket up with me and ill show you "normal" for a honda.

what an effing retard. did you even *read* my post. homo... you actually drive a 4 cyl...seriously? man, you want a real vehicle, get a v8, i bought some crummy honda for GAS MILEAGE. the fastest this car will ever go is being pulled on a trailor BEHIND my chevy. i asked for technical advice, not a race. And lack of power??? yeah, its got a lack of power, its motor puts out less torque than my lugnuts on my chevy require!!! i said lack of SPARK! do you know what that is? i doubt it, there doesn't seem to be any spark in yer noggin.

lol this made me smile today lol domestic and import still cant get along ... i for one fly both sides mopar and honda but any way to your tec issue bigdawg i would also say maybe a map sensor or tps if it cranks first try then dies before getting above 250 rpm maybe also a fuel delivery problem id really have to be there to hear whats goin on if its electrical cut out or fuel starvation. or i could play guessing games all day till we figure it out..

try changing the distributor, Honda for some reason set up the ECU so that if it doesn't sense a spark, it turns the fuel pump off. your weak spark may become no spark in a matter of split seconds.

try the fuel injection relay. I have two eg civics and after awhile the heat will end up causing the main fi relay to break down and go bad. It happened to me twice.
