Hey all, Today I completed putting on a new set of Tokico struts (HP), A set of JDM lowering springs (2" front and 1.5" rear). I also installed an ingalls front camber kit and another brand rear camber (bent arm), a full masterflex energy suspension kit and all three Megan strut bars.
Not to be funny (but it is). I also put a full set of studded snows on. lol
Anyway. After replacing some rusted parts I was done, except for the alignment. I took it to the shop behind my job. This is where the problem I have became obvious.
The tech found that my upper control arm not only had a bit of play at the pivot when forced side to side, But also that the balljoint end of the arm doesn't clear the strut tower if the camber is set to zero.
I believe the play in the arm is caused by the semisoft rubber bushings that came with the pivot. However the guy that did the alignment was forced to adjust the camber to the negative to keep the arm from smashing into the tower. When I hit a bump hard enough I can still hear it grind the edge against the tower and the negative camber is a huge issue on my tires.
I see lowerd Accords all the time. How did they do it without these clearance issues?
Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.
