I put a d16y8 into my 91 civic with all the bolt on parts and for some reason when i drive it sometimes it jumps really hard at a certain rpms like im smashing on the gas and letting off....but if i shut it off and fire it back up its just fine?

sounds like it might be a vaccum leak
