LS-V is a pretty good and strong motor from what Ive seen and put togethet. They are nice and torquey and make decent power throughout the rpms. Just make sure you change the oil pump to a GSR/ITR. Other than that you should be fine and have alota fun with it

Yeah it'll just bolt right up to the block. Your also gonna need to get an LS-Vtec kit to run an external oil line to the back of the head. They'll give you an -8NPT plug to you need to use to plug the bottom of the head as well. If you have anymore questions let me know and ill see what i can do to help

well ive done tons of ls and b20 vtec's and a whole lota different stuff lol. The only thing you need for a good running ls vtec is a stock ls block, a vtec head, head gasket, ls vtec kit (oil sandwich plate, -6AN oil line to the head, a 8th NPT plug), and to switch out the oil pump to a vtec one. You do all that stuff and you'll be good to go as far as a good reliable ls/v motor

No, you can use all the stock stuff in it. The only time you need to upgrade internals is when you put bigger cams in it. If you use the stock cams you'll be ok. The biggest cams id go with without changing anything out is ITR's. I had some CTR's brake s retainer and drop a valve on me at 8200rpms and it trashed my motor and you dont want that lol. But yeah as long as your runnin cams that arnt bigger that Type R's you'll be good to go

Yeah I could, my friend is selling a GSR head. How much are you wanting to pay?

Yeah Type R swaps are good motors but they are still pretty expensive. If you wanna build some nasty out of stock honda stuff do a b20vtec. Use a B20z block, GSR head, b16 tranny, and you'll be faster than a Type R and you can get a block for like 550-700 bucks from just about anywhere. But they are all good motors, B20vtec is the best bang for your buck if your starting from scratch, and they type R of course is an excellent motor too and so is the lsvtec.
